These are the awkward crochet shorts and pants you’ve always wanted

Colorado-based artist Schuyler Ellers used various crochet techniques on recycled vintage blankets to create psychedelic shorts, pants, and jump suits. The pieces come in a variety of styles and colors, ranging from form-fitting jumpsuits to groovy bell-bottom pants.

They’re perfect for your next trip to Burning Man, but if you’re not going this year, you can use them as warm, cozy pajamas. They’re also appropriate for dates, business meetings, and black tie events.

‘Afghan blankets are original pieces of folk art, hand made by artisans across America since the 1960’s and well before’, explains Ellers. ‘With scissors and a sewing machine I transformed vintage crochets into wearable sculpture!’
