Dutch architects are developing the world’s most beautiful hotel shaped like an amethyst

The Plaza’s got nothing on this line of hotels! Developed by Dutch agency NL Architects, the proposal for the Amethyst Hotel looks just like violet variety of quartz, cut in half. Designed to promote the healing qualities of the amethyst, the first Amethyst Hotel (of many) is under development in China, on a man-made island called Ocean Flower, which is in the sea north of Hainan.

The inside of the hotel is placed ‘around a large void, with access to each room organized along the outer perimeter’ and the inner layer is then formed by crystalline clusters.

Sign me up for a few nights in this hotel as soon as it opens!
