Anamorphosis is a distorted projection or perspective that requires the viewer to occupy a specific vantage point or use special devices to reconstitute the image. Milan-based design studio Storage Associati has designed a staircase with this trick-of-the-eye concept of anamorphosis. From most angles, this staircase is highly visible. But when viewed from a specific spot in the room, the staircase disappears as you can only see a seamless collection of its supporting beams.
