Associate art professor Owen Mundy has created a data map, I Know Where Your Cat Lives, which, true to its name, maps out cat photos from photo-sharing sites like Flickr and Instagram, thanks to some software he wrote to access API data with. It’s a thought-provoking project, though cat owners seem not quite as alarmed as he had expected. ‘I’ve actually had many requests from people to add their cat to the map’, he said, adding that cat owners who want to get their cat off the map simply have to adjust their privacy settings on Instagram or Flickr.
