The trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey is here … and we’re confused

Yes, that’s right. After months and years of painful waiting, all you fifty-shaders are on the brink of getting a serious treat. Often described in a derogatory tone as ‘mummy-porn’, nevertheless E.L. James’ Fifty Shades Of Grey took an unsuspecting audience by storm and rapidly rose to be one of the most talked about books ever. In 2012 the second and third instalments in the series – Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed – were published. Altogether, the franchise easily claims the record of fastest selling paperback of all time.

And now, set for a February 2015 release, we are given a trailer-taster of the Fifty Shades film. For the first time, the sexually enigmatic Christian Grey is visualised and we hope the fans aren’t disappointed.

As the uninitiated, we’re a tad confused though. The trailer seems thoroughly PG (except for a two second snippet at the end to whet our appetites) despite our being led to believe that this is the kind of book you keep away from your small kids… and maybe also your husband.

Perhaps we should read the books before we judge too harshly. At least we like the music.
