Using water as a canvas is possible and here are the gorgeous results

It’s a miracle! Apparently, using water as a canvas for painting stunning artworks is possible. Ebru, also called ‘Paper Marbling’, is an art form that uses water basins and special brushes to create colorful, flowing images onto water. The painting is as only as good as the painter who manipulates the water’s runny surface to his will. After the artist is satisfied with the image, he then transfers it on paper, making it last a bit longer than it would have on its previous canvas.
