Ski diving over Lake Wanaka

Some say skydivers have a death wish; others call them adrenaline junkies. Lost At E Minor wouldn’t disagree on either count, having witnessed the action up close and personal.

On a recent trip to the South Island of New Zealand we took ‘the jump’ or ‘push’ – 15,000ft high in the atmosphere, from a plane over the beautiful town of Wanaka in Central Otago thanks to Skydive Lake Wanaka and Tourism New Zealand.

These guys have taken over 85,000 people up, and then straight back down again. You fall back to the Earth at a brain-meltingly fast 200kph, looking over Lake Wanaka, the Aspiring National Park, and on a clear day the Tasman sea, while free falling.
