Sir Mix-A-Lot performed Baby Got Back with the Seattle Symphony and plenty of butt slapping ensued

Ok, so the song was a hit back in 1992 (off the seminal album, Mack Daddy) but this version of Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back STILL sounds fresh today as performed by the, wait for it, Seattle Symphony. Yes, that’s right, Sir Mix-A-Lot is mixing it up. A lot. Check out the front row dancers in this performance who are hamming it up and butt slapping their way through the entire song. Priceless.

It was all part of Seattle Symphony’s acclaimed annual Sonic Evolution project, in which famous composers are invited to ‘write orchestral world premieres inspired by bands and artists that launched from, or are related to, Seattle’. Yup, we can’t help but love this take.
