Watch this remarkable video as a GoPro captures a man being robbed at gunpoint

Last May, Malcom Fox was taking a leisurely bike ride through Somerset West in South Africa’s Western Cape, recording with his helmet-mounted GoPro. Suddenly, a man raced out at him with a gun drawn. Two accomplices soon arrived and the three men took Fox’s bike and other belongings.

At this point, one would expect the robbers to nab the GoPro as well, but surprisingly they didn’t even acknowledge its presence.

“Armed gunman and 2 others stopped myself and took [my] cellphone, car keys, oakleys and bike,” says Fox on his YouTube page.

“Fortunately they did not have a clue what a GoPro was and this is the evidence that will assist in their prosecution!”

True enough, with the help of the footage, the three were later apprehended by authorities. Fox was reunited with his cellphone, though his bike has yet to be found.

The moral of the story: always mount a GoPro on your head whenever you go outside, you never know when it might come in handy.
