A smart lighter that shames you into quitting

We’ve all got our own vices but some of us have more worrying addictions than others. Cigarettes not only cause lung cancer but they’re expensive. Imaging giving your lungs a break from all that toxic garbage and keeping your dollars safely in your pocket.

A new Kickstarter campaign is to raise funding for Quitbit, a device that not only tracks your smoking but also lights up according to personal goals you set. So if you set the device to turn off after you’ve reached 5 cigarettes a day, the lighter won’t work. Unless of course you reset it. But you’ll feel too shameful to do that, right?

It uses your smartphone to track your smoking and can even be used with other tools like e-cigarettes and nicotine gum.
