The intoxicating photography of Wang Qingsong

Back in 2012 we showed you a handful of images from Wang Qinsong. Since then, this Beijing-based artist has added even more photographs to an already-intoxicating portfolio that questions life, government and traditions, while also pushing the boundaries.

One of his photos back in 2010, Follow Him, challenged the traditional view of education in China: ‘I am talking about the education problem in China. Knowledge is taught but not learned by many people who fail to understand the real meanings. They do not know the meaning of studies. They study for Their parents, For Their grandparents, but never for Themselves, for the love of knowledge itself. Therefore we see so many students trash Their books examinations after’.
