A Tumblr that illustrates how to cosplay on a budget

Want the cool superhero/villain costume but don’t have the time to build one or cash to buy one? You can thank artist Patrick Dean for his handy dandy tips on making your next cosplay costume without costing a fortune. ‘My Half Assed Cosplay Ideas’ is a Tumblr blog which contains Dean’s illustrations of costumes fabricated from normal, everyday stuff.

Think of these costumes as the poor man’s version of the real thing, so don’t be expecting to win the ‘Best Costume Award’ at the next comic con. You can be the poor man’s Batman by weaving together stuff like a bed sheet, swim trunks, and a sweatshirt. You can also be rundown Doctor Doom by making use of tin foil, cardboard, a green hoodie, and grey leggings. Other characters he’s drawn so far are Mr. Fantastic, Daredevil, The Riddler, Giant-Man, The Rhino, Kraven the Hunter, and Aquaman.

‘My comic related costume ideas for those of us on a budget or not wanting to put forth any effort. Most of this stuff you probably already have in your closet’, says Dean on his site.
