The Devil is in the details. Upon first glance, the work of Maskull Laserre seems like just another contemporary art show, seemingly random found objects arranged in a gallery space. We then notice these everyday items, which all happen to be made of wood, appear to be badly damaged in one way or another. Of course, there in the chips and splinters lies the magic. Upon very close inspection, incredibly fine and intricate carvings reveal themselves and just like that, our faith in the artistic process is restored.
