Thinking about joining the U.S. army? Kiss goodbye to your personal style

A 57-page document was released this month by the U.S. Army, indicating just what it takes to join (and keep in good standing) with the force. And it’s all about how to present yourself. The military has always been good at keeping its personnel in line, and dress code is about as strict as it gets.

Sideburns aren’t allowed to extend ‘below the bottom of the ear opening’, women’s hair must not be shorter than 1/4″ from the scalp, and nail polish must be clear, if worn (and men are never allowed to wear it), though clear acrylic nails are authorized. And sorry, but gold and platinum caps aren’t allowed on teeth – so if you want to show your incredible wealth, you’ll have to do it another way.
