An infographic of the 60 greatest typewriters

Typewriters may be a thing of the past, but that doesn’t mean they should be forgotten. Pop Chart Lab created a tribute to this old technology via a chart called ‘A Visual Compendium of Typewriters’.

The infographic features over 60 hand-illustrations of some of the greatest typewriters in history. On their website it says, ‘Underscoring over 100 years of essential models from the first Hammond in 1870 to the Remington Rands and Smith Coronas of the 20th century, these marvellous contraptions are arrayed in ribbons of compositional innovation’.
