Ever wondered what the inside of a video game controller looks like? ‘Deconstructed’ is a series that shows you the pieces that make up the entirety of those gaming devices we all loved and button-mashed. Toronto-based photographer Brandon Allen performed an autopsy on classic video game controllers, laid out all the parts, and photographed them. The controllers were collected from gamers who once owned them.

Some have been physically altered, some were damaged beyond repair. The series attempts to show us the inner workings of these gaming tools we all grew up with, as well as the commitment we put into them over the years.
