Best known for awesome skateboard videos and fashion spreads, Vice had young people in mind when it recently launched Vice News, a serious journalism website that offers exclusive videos and documentaries. With their finger on the world’s pulse, Vice News reports from current international hot spots, such as Venezuela and Ukraine. Their newly launched website covers politics, war and conflict, news on the environment and crime.
There’s some pretty big bucks going into this new initiative: as referenced on Forbes, Vice Media reportedly plans to put $50 million into its news push over the next three years and has hired 60 reporters for the effort. The company is said to be on track for revenues of $500 million this year, with a profit margin in excess of 25%. We’ll take that, thanks.
