Food painted to look like other food

It’s Not What It Seems is a series by artist Hikaru Cho that involves food, art, and deception. The talented Japanese artist applies acrylic paints to transform food into other kinds of food. For instance, what may look like a cucumber is actually a well-camouflaged banana upon closer inspection. She also turned a tomato into a tangerine, and an egg into an eggplant.

This isn’t the first time she’s used her amazing painting skills to create visual illusions. Her other popular piece of work is a series of body transformations involving painting on creepy and surreal body parts.
