With 4,000 or so reindeer ending up as roadkill on Finnish roads every year, the Finnish Reindeer Herders Association are now experimenting with spraying reflective paint on them to help them be more visible to motorists at night. ‘The spray is being tested on fur at the moment, but it may be even more effective on the antlers, because they are seen from every side,’ said the association’s Anne Ollila. Makes us wonder if this will make them more visible to wolves and other predators too.
