PRODUCT REVIEW: Jamboo headphones
Newly arrived, the American-Eagle style Jamboo headphones (yes, that is a play on Bamboo and jammin’) ready to represent for the Sochi Winter Olympics. Jamboo’s San Diego-based creators, Austin Glenn and Scooter Vaughan, originally used KickStarter to get their dream off the ground and after raising almost double their funding goal, finally launched their products to the world in 2012.
You can see the design and craftsmanship that has gone into these earphones, especially in the bamboo microphone with inbuilt start/stop features – all easily accessible on the beautifully coloured, red, white and blue cords.
It comes packed with a 3.5mm gold plated plug, a 1.14M cable, a 10mm inner speaker and 6U drive, all of which deliver stellar sound quality.
The earbud design heralds back to an earlier time of squishy black rubber, but wearing them a while, I realised this makes for a much more comfortable long-time wear. With three sizes of silicone ear inserts available, you’ll be sure to find your perfect fit.
Finally, the threading on Jamboo’s American Eagle-style earphones offers a style that makes it unnecessary to don neck bling, whilst also making tangles a distant memory. Eureka!
