Where does that soccer ball come from? Probably right here in Sialkot

Sialkot is a city and capital of Sialkot District, located north-east of the Punjab province in Pakistan. You might know the area as the birthplace of one of the country’s founders. But this is also where up to 60 million soccer balls are produced every year, making up to 70% of the world’s total production. Other industries are also setup here, producing everything from sporting apparel and surgical instruments to leather jackets and guns.

Lying on the outskirts of the Sialkot is the Forward Sports Factory, where many of Adidas’s leading footballs are made, and where 18,000 footballs are crafted a day. It’s all very amazing and these photos show just how huge the football…err, soccer ball making business actually is.
