If you really want a unique tattoo, you’re going to have to head on over to St. Petersburg and find tattoo artist Sasha Unisex. The artist creates beautiful and unique artworks that look more like paintings than tattoos. What sets her apart from other tattoo artists is her style, in which she draws in shapes, contrasts, and shades, rather than the popular bold outlines you see in many of today’s tats.

Unisex also employs a kind of geometric style to her illustrations, giving it that 3D effect. She uses vibrant inks – which are limited to blues, purples, blues, and greens – in painting the cosmic and ‘groovy’ feel of her subjects.

On her Instagram, she shares her process. Usually, she watercolours a draft of the tattoo first on paper. When she’s satisfied, she then moves on to creating the same beautiful image on her client’s skin.

Now, shut up and take my money. I also want a tattoo of a space whale tattoo!
