If you’re tired of plain, old massage techniques like, Shiatsu, Swedish, Thai, and Deep Tissue, perhaps you should try something new: Snake therapy. Bali Heritage Reflexology and Spa in Jakarta, Indonesia includes pythons in their massage therapy services. They place the snakes on your back while you lie down on the massage bed.

The snakes then slither around your back and make their way to your belly, neck and other body parts in need of a good rub. The logic behind this is that the combination of the snake moving on top of you, plus the adrenaline rush from absolute terror of getting bit, increases your metabolism.

But not to worry, two masseuses are always nearby to: 1) make sure you’re still alive. And 2) make sure the snake does its job by constantly moving around your back. The snakes are also non-venomous and have their mouths shut with sticky tape. And to be extra sure, they are fed live rabbits consistently so that they are always full.

The 90-minute treatment costs $43, which includes the snake therapy and tons of I-Shouldn’t-Be-Alive stories to tell your folks after.
