A Kickstarter film project about Kung Fu and Vikings versus Nazis
Fancy being a sponsor of an 80s-inspired action comedy film that features arcade-robots, dinosaurs, Nazis, Vikings, mutants, and a Kung Fu-cop? Kung Fury is about a cop who goes back in time to stop Adolf Hitler, aka Kung Fuhrer, from destroying the world with his Nazi empire. How does he plan to do it? With the power of flying kicks and karate chops, of course!
With writer and director David Sandberg already finished shooting most of the film, the only thing left to do is post-production. The movie uses the green screen backdrop for the majority of the scenes, meaning it needs to pay talented visual effects artists to make some CGI and do their Hollywood movie magic. And that’s where you, Kung Fu fanatic and potential backer, comes in. With a $20 pledge, you’ll get the digital copy of the script plus a digital download of the finished movie. Other backer tiers include a $600 pledge that will make you an extra in the movie, a $4,000 pledge that will get you Thor’s helmet and hammer, and a $10,000 pledge that will make you Kung Fu’s ex-partner (which someone already bought!)
As of writing, Kung Fury has already surpassed its pledge goal of $200,000 with a haul of $338, 075 from 9,271 backers.
