Bananas used as a graffiti canvas: art by Marta Grossi

In art, anything can be your canvas. Even bananas! Hong Kong-based designer Marta Grossi has a simple but fun series about bananas. Every night, she gives the fruit a makeover using different materials like black markers, glitter, thumb tacks, and paint.

She then takes a photo of it using her iPhone 5 and eats her art the next morning. Mmmm nothing like a good hearty serving of art for breakfast to start the day!

It’s nothing grand nor rebellious like the graffiti you see on the streets, but it’s a cool way of showing that with a little bit of imagination, the world is your canvas. Now go grab a banana and make some aPEELing art.
