What I Be project: a moving photo series showing people’s insecurities

Photographer Steve Rosenfield invited hundreds of people to write down their insecurities on their bodies and pose for the camera in a series called What I be Project. Through these emotional and heartfelt photos, Steve hopes to encourage viewers to put themselves in other people’s shoes – and in the process, gain a better understanding and a wider perspective of others.

‘In today’s society, we are told to look or act a certain way. If we differ from these standards, we are often judged, ridiculed, and sometimes even killed over them’, he says on his website. ‘I started this project in hopes to open up the lines of communication, and to help everyone accept diversity with an open mind & heart’
