Spanish artist stitches portraits of his family into the palms of his hands

You may not want to shake his hand to congratulate him, as Spanish artist David Cata stitches portraits of his family and friends into the palms of his hands for his project Overexposed Emotions, which illustrates how much they are woven into his life.

Using a needle, he very carefully pierces the top layer of his skin before drawing the thread through to create a stitch. They can take up to about four hours to complete, after which he films himself picking the stitches out of his hands.

About the author

A love of traveling, art, and denim saw this Brit native mix them all up. The result was art crafted from denim and a new home in Sweden. Even though he once lived in Australia and never rode a wave, Denimu is only slightly better with a keyboard and likes to write about the things he has seen on his travels and the people he meets along the way.
