A music video shot entirely from an iPhone

Roderick Smith, or better known as North Arm, is an Australian musician who has found an economic way to creating simple but artistic music videos: he used his iPhone. Locked Gate is the most recent single and music video from the Thought Lines EP. Watching the home made video makes you feel you’re looking at a vintage clip from the 70s or 80s. So yeah it’s kinda like a music video blended with Instagram.

Produced by J. Walker (Machine Translations), the shoot and editing only took two hours, with Thomas Hudson – a local designer and film maker – finishing it off with the NORTH ARM logo.

If you want to check them out, here’s what he had to say on his Facebook page: ‘At this stage, the North Arm band are thinking we will be ready to perform supports come early March, hopefully with some fun Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, Brissie, Radelaide, Perth, Hobart and, of course, Newie bands’.
