The Neverending Story gets a 21st century makeover

Yep, it’s pretty much what we’ve all been waiting for: a twenty-first century makeover of our beloved The Neverending Story characters. These magnificent ‘explorations’ are the work of Nicolas Francoeur, an artist at Eidos Montreal (the studio behind games Deux Ex and Thief reboot).

Imagining what the movie characters might look like if the film was made in 2014 instead of 1984, brings us Falcor with working legs (and a much more sinister look about him!), Atryu looking more buff, The Rockbiter looking far more scarier than we remember, and our beloved Empress losing the baby face and transforming into a beautiful woman.

Having seen all these, isn’t it about time those rumors about a remake actually came to fruition?
