A town in England changes its name to Kings Landing

Murder, incest, and intrigue will come to a small town in England as it sets itself up to change its name to Kings Landing on February 17. The town, Kings Langley, will change its name for a week to promote the Game of Thrones season 3 DVD and Blu-ray sets.

Story goes is that an executive producer of the popular TV series heard the similarly sounding Kings Langley as a stop while waiting for a train at Euston. He then coordinated with the Dacorum Borough Council to change it to a more menacing and bloody name.

Hopefully in that one week span, townsfolk won’t be chopping each other’s heads off and spending their down time on brothels.
