A £29,000 18 karat yellow and white gold pen
If you want to replace your old Bic pen with something that has more bling, try out the Jack Row Jaali pen available at Harrods. It’s going to cost you though, at a price of £29,000! This is one pen you won’t want to lose, not with its 18 carat yellow and white gold and petrol blue diamonds.
The description on the Harrods website reads: ‘This ornate fountain pen is crafted in hand polished 18 karat yellow and white gold and is studded with approximately 1.8 carat precious brilliant-cut petrol blue diamonds. Its arabesque design echoes the intricate filigree found in ‘Jaali’ latticed screens, prominent in Mughal Indian architecture.
‘Accompanied by a stunning solid oak presentation case and desk display stand, it makes the perfect gift for the person who has everything’.
Though the pen’s price tag commands attention, it doesn’t hold a candle to the world’s most expensive pen: The Aurora Diamante, priced at around £790,000. Why is it that expensive? It’s the only 30-carat pen in the world. Makes you wonder if these extravagant pens use gold for ink.
