Honestly, I imagined a giant Dalek terrorising London first. But a giant polar bear isn’t half as bad. Last September 15, London was recently visited by a three-ton polar bear created from reclaimed materials and operated by a team of puppeteers.

The polar bear’s name is Aurora. She was commissioned by Greenpeace to raise awareness of Arctic drilling. She’s as big as a double decker bus but she aims to be a bigger symbol than that.

Aurora aims to become a symbol of global support for Greenpeace’s ‘Save the Arctic’ campaign – a call for an end to oil and gas drilling in the Arctic.
