Illustrations of X-Men in medieval times

Every now and then we get to see cool historical reincarnations of our favourite comic book heroes. For instance, in the Neil Gaiman-written series Marvel 1602, the timeline our heroes are set in takes place back in the Elizabethan era. While in Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne, we see the Dark Knight as a caveman and a pirate. A pirate for Christ’s sake!

California-based artist Nate Hallinan created an equally-good re-imagination of comic book characters by taking some of the X-Men and transporting them back to the dark ages. In The Order of X we see Wolverine, Storm, Professor X, Beast, Cyclops, Phoenix, Nightcrawler, and Colossus, as medieval characters. Check out website to read the background of these Game of Thrones-esque X-Men.
