Heavy metal subculture of Botswana photographed by Franck Marshall
Somehow through time and space, ’80’s Heavy Metal’ met ‘Cowboy’ and took root in Botswana and something new was born. South African photographer Franck Marshall documents a subculture he calls ‘The Renegades,’ which grew from a classic rock band that was formed in Botswana in the 70s and evolved through the decades. The subjects are one part Mad Max and one part Macho Man Randy savage, but all metal.
