So, 500 pounds of gingerbread, 400 pounds of candy and 2,240 pounds of icing: that’s what went into the making of what is now arguably the world’s largest gingerbread village by Jon Lovitch, a chef in New York. It weighs 1.5 tons — about 1360 kilograms — and has 152 houses and 65 trees. We didn’t see any gingerbread men in there. We think they all overdosed on sugar and died of an heart attack.
