If you’ve always wished to live in a beautifully designed home but never had the funds for it, Paperhouses might be of use to you. This unique site is the first open source platform that brings world-class residential architecture for free to the general public. And here’s how it works. Each house is designed by an ‘internationally renowned architect,’ and those blueprints are then uploaded online for free.

All you have to do is register (which is also free) and then download the files and get building. If you’re not a builder, no worries. Paperhouses also gives you a network of local providers who can help with construction process ‘for a negotiated syndicated price.’
