Atlantis isn’t the only underwater world around. In China, underneath the man-made lake of Qiandao, sits the ancient city of Shi Cheng. The city, dubbed as Lion City because of nearby Five Lion Mountain, is a 1,300 year old city that was submerged 53 years ago. The Chinese flooded the valley to make way for the Xin’an River Dam, sinking the once proud city 85-131 feet beneath the lake’s surface.
