If you like your cups of coffee cheap, you might want to think about acknowledging the barista that makes them. The Petite Syrah Café in Nice, on the French Riviera, is making headlines for charging customers differently, according to how they order their cups of joe. Regular coffee? That’ll be seven euros. Regular coffee with a ‘please’ at the end? It’ll cost you just 4.25 euros. But say ‘hello’ and ‘a coffee, please’ will only set you back a mere 1.40 euros.

Think this is all just a joke? It started out as one, but take a look at the café’s blackboard where you can see the discounts and how to get them!
