Swole is defined as ‘to be big, with large muscles’. Everybody wants to be swole (well, at least me and my gym buddies.) Though can you imagine if everyone in the world had the body of a body builder? From the cleaning lady, to the little girl next door, to everyone in your family. If swole were the status quo – and I’m going to raise a philosophical question here – wouldn’t that make no one swole?

Belgian photographer Kurt Stallaert digitally altered photographs to give us an idea of this alternate world. For his series Bodybuilders World, he makes us rethink the concept of buff bodies and swole physiques. If we all had Ryan Gosling bodies, what then would be the new standard of beauty?
