Empire Peaks is a fun series created by Seattle based artist Michael Leavitt, depicting all your favourite celebrities, politicians and dead historical figures as, what else, Star Wars characters.

So who made the cut? A semi-nude Angelina as Princess Leia, Nelson Mandela as Luke Skywalker, Michael Jackson as an ewok, and Oprah as Queen Amidala.

‘With Baby Boomer parents, GenXers nursed on commercial enterprise and bucolic, nuclear comforts. We learned to want cheap plastic objects and fed on our parents’ generational guilt. In a culture of learned consumerism, buying toys was our new medium of love. Empire Peaks fulfills the gluttony of a generation’, says Leavitt.
