Artist converts her small studio into a magical world of wonder

Most of us do not have the artistic capability to redecorate our own room. Now let’s wallow in self-pity as we take a look at how artist JeeYoung Lee managed to transform a small 360 x 410 x 240 cm studio into something that looks like it came out of Alice in Wonderland.

The Korean artist spent weeks redecorating and bringing to life surreal and colourful rooms inspired by her personal life and old Korean fables. She didn’t use any digital trickery here, just handmade props, beautiful lighting, and a whole lot of imagination. Amazing how a powerful artistic mind and a resourceful attitude can create something so big from something so little, no’?

JeeYoung Lee recently graduated from Hongik University in Seoul and was a recipient of the Sovereign Art Prize in 2012. From February 7 to March 7, 2014, she will have her first European exhibit at the Opiom Gallery in Opio, France. The exhibit presents Lees body of work called Stage of Mind.
