Well at least it isn’t a remake. We all know how those go. More than 65 years after the film’s release, It’s a Wonderful Life is getting a sequel. Star Partners and Hummingbird Productions are collaborating on It’s a Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story and aiming for the film’s release in the 2015 holiday season.

According to CBS, the sequel will ‘focus on the descendants of the troubled family man played by Jimmy Stewart in the original film’. Producers have even been in talks with some of the film’s original cast to reprise their roles, including Jimmy Hawkins, Carol Coombs and Karolyn Grimes, who played Zuzu.

Is this a great idea or just another sign that Hollywood is running out of original material? I guess we’ll soon see.
