Yes, the Sydney Opera House celebrated its 40th birthday

Last month, the Opera House celebrated its 40th birthday since it opened in 1973. And since it’s, you know, kind of a big deal in Australia – it’s only its most iconic and most celebrated piece of cultural and tourism infrastructure – everyone was there to celebrate with it.

Many artists sent their messages of congratulations and well wishes (I believe most went like: ’40 is the new 30!’) Some of have presented their greetings on video. Here’s one featuring Wally De Backer (Goyte), Marc Newson, David McAllister, and Barry Humphries as Dame Edna.
