Cities are experienced not just by sight, but sound too. Composers Susie Ibarra and Roberto Rodriguez have created Digital Sanctuaries, a project that lets Manhattanites take a soundwalk to the city’s 12 historical sites on a mobile app. As Ibarra puts it, the soundwalk offers an ‘aural sanctuary’ in the urban city. Wonder how it’d feel like to walk in any other city listening to the same soundtrack.
