Camouflage is a primal skill, so it’s no wonder that artists have a field day reinterpreting it in the context of our urban lives. French artist Laurent La Gamba, who has a vast body of work revolving around people in acrylic-painted protective suits who would totally disappear into their surroundings if not for the wide grins on their bare faces, makes us chuckle whether it involves being in disguise at the supermarket checkout or right in front of their car rides.
