Artist Adam Harvey has a string of unconventional art projects to his name, including Save As, a series he worked on between 2004 and 2006, where he made a bunch of suggestive and erotic images from spam email messages. The process involved automatically layering the subject line of each email one at a time, while a custom script was used to conjure mosaics from spam text to make the images. ‘These images are a documentation and homage to the creative, but banal themes of spam,’ he said in his statement. That sums it all up, really.
