Ladies and gentlemen, introducing the Lay’s Wavy Potato Chips dipped in Milk Chocolate. Also, diet? What diet? The gift from god, err, product will be sold for $3.49 per 5-oz bag. It will be sold only at Target stores as part of a limited release through the holidays. I repeat: limited release – which is code for ‘time to panic buy!’

‘When you try something drastically different, you have to walk before you can run’, Ram Krishnan, Frito-Lay’s VP of Marketing told USA Today. ‘We wanted to test our way through this before we go big’.

Frito-Lay is one of the first big companies to explore the world of sweet and salty snacks, with competition mostly coming from small businesses. If it sells well – which I’m sure it will – the Lay’s people might keep it around forever. And here’s even more good news: there’s already a dark chocolate version on the drawing board.
