Smiling synthetic cadavers on the tables for med students

If these all-too-real looking skinless bodies make you cringe, you may want to reconsider med school. The University of Arizona College of Medicine, Phoenix, has just brought these synthetic cadavers to campus and students will be able to test their skills while the cadaver looks back at you with that somewhat cheeky grin. But that’s not what’s making news. What’s making news is that these smiling cadavers have hearts that beat and blood that flows.

They also have livers that can produce bile. And if you ever that strange urge to purchase your own synthetic cadaver, SynDaver Labs sells them online for $40,000.
