Funeral Guests: Portrait series captures the funeral outfits of the mourning

Ever wondered what you’d wear to your loved one’s funeral? No? Well James Day has! This London-based photographer presents a photo series titled Funeral Guests that depicts bearded old men in their, uh, funeral best. How did Day capture the forlorn looks on the men’s faces?

He says, ‘When I was posing them I asked them to really think about how they might be feeling if they were actually saying goodbye to a very close friend that day, as I really wanted to try and capture not only some of the melancholic, but also the fond memories that funerals evoke’.
