British designer brings us a futuristic underwater city

Phil Pauley is a British conceptual designer and self-proclaimed futurist who is behind this sci-fi looking Sub Biosphere 2, an underwater city that is completely self-sustaining for all those people who dream of living under the sea. The project contains eight ‘biomes’ that are arranged around the central support biosphere and the entire structure would measure around 340 meters wide if constructed.

The neatest thing about this project is that the entire structure can move vertically above or below water during storms and all life-support systems are controlled by the use of atmospheric pressure. So, if you fancy yourself an aquanaut, you may just be lucky enough to call the Sub Biopshere 2 home in the future.
